Anodized Aluminum Provides Building Rust Protection

Moisture and humidity levels should be considered before making the modular or pre-assembled building selection for an industrial environment, advises Porta-King Building Systems. The wrong choice can adversely affect a building's eye appeal and its critical mechanical performance.
Porta-King, a major manufacturer of modular and pre-assembled building systems, reports that moisture and humidity are rust threats to any steel-based building system. Consequently, when they are present, anodized aluminum makes a better choice as the material for structural components.
Painting is no substitute for anodized aluminum structural components, according to Porta-King. Painted steel components are susceptible to scratching and resulting rust. Plus, rust is often virtually guaranteed with steel by rough edges left behind by cutting procedures.
Don't be fooled by your eyes when judging the building environment, Porta-King warns. Often, the appearance of a dry industrial environment camouflages the fact that high humidity levels are present. When it does, rust is a threat.
Porta-King has been a leader in custom-design pre-assembled buildings since 1969. To request a free quotation or product literature, or to schedule a site visit to your facility, contact us at info@portaking.com or call 800-284-5346.
