Porta-King supplied this 20’ tall observation tower to allow military personnel to monitor infantry on the ground practicing with various types of artillery at this undisclosed military base.
Porta-King also supplied the prefabricated building that shelter personnel during artillery practice. The building on top of this 20’ tall observation tower allows personnel to monitor and record the accuracy of the artillery while maintaining a safe distance from the action.
The building also shelters the monitoring equipment, protecting it from the weather. The structural framework of this observation tower is galvanized to assure long life even when exposed to moisture. A stairway was supplied that included dual landings to accommodate the overall height of the steel observation tower Porta-King offered military the added benefit of single sourcing for the prefabricated building and steel observation tower.
Because we manufacturer both products we take complete responsibility for the fit and finish of the entire project. Porta-King supplied engineering calculations through our third party engineering firm confirming that this observation tower was designed in compliance with the established structural code requirements for the area.
Porta-King also created detailed approval drawings for an on-site review of the layout design prior to fabrication of the portable building or steel observation tower. Because Porta-King also supplied a prefabricated building for this project, we included detailed drawings for both structures, including anchoring details for the connection the prefabricated building to the steel observation tower.
